『Mortal Kombat 1』をめぐる憶測が広がっており、現在のT-1000を含むDLCウェーブが新キャラクター追加の最後となる可能性が噂されています。現在の注目は、液体金属ターミネーターのアクションを披露した新たなゲームプレイトレーラーに集まっています。
ホームランダーのようなキャラクターとは異なり、T-1000には派手なアクロバット技や空中戦能力はありません。その最大の特徴は液体金属へ変形する能力で、攻撃をシームレスに回避したりコンボチェーンを延長したりすることが可能です。
T-1000の「ファイタリティ」は『ターミネーター2』の大追跡シーンをオマージュしており、劇中で象徴的な大型トラックが再現されています。トレーラーではこの決め技の一部しか公開されておらず、サスペンスを保つためと成人指定回避のため、完全なシーケンスは控えめに表現されています。
