Project ETHOS: A Fresh Perspective on the Hero Shooter Genre

2K Games and 31st Union have joined forces to deliver Project ETHOS, a free-to-play experience aiming to redefine the hero shooter landscape. The game uniquely combines the dynamic progression of roguelikes with the strategic depth of hero-based combat, all within a thrilling third-person perspective.

What distinguishes Project ETHOS? It seamlessly integrates the constant adaptation of roguelikes with the diverse abilities of unique heroes. Each match features randomized "Evolutions," dramatically altering hero capabilities and demanding strategic flexibility. Transform your sniper into a close-quarters combatant or your support into a solo powerhouse – the possibilities are endless.

Project ETHOS offers two distinct game modes:

• Trials: This signature mode challenges teams of three to compete against both AI and human opponents. Collect cores, strategically choose your extraction point, and invest your earnings in upgrades to enhance future runs. Death means losing your hard-earned cores, adding a thrilling layer of risk and reward. Join matches in progress and strategize around the remaining match time.

• Gauntlet: A classic competitive PvP mode where teams battle through brackets, upgrading their heroes with each victory. Elimination means waiting for the next round, creating high-stakes competition.

How to Join the Project ETHOS Playtest

Project ETHOS embraces community feedback, regularly incorporating updates and improvements. The playtest, running from October 17th to 21st, is currently available to players in select regions (USA, Canada, Mexico, UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Spain, and Italy).

Gain access by watching participating Twitch streams for 30 minutes to receive a playtest key. Alternatively, register on the official website for a chance to participate in future playtests.

Server maintenance will occur at the following times:

North America:

• October 17th: 10 AM – 11 PM PT
• October 18th-20th: 11 AM – 11 PM PT

Europe:

• October 17th: 6 PM – 1 AM GMT+1
