Pokémon GO is celebrating the New Year with its annual festive event, running from December 30th to January 1st, 2025. This exciting event features themed bonuses, special Pokémon encounters, and plenty of ways to ring in the new year in style. Following the December 21st-22nd Community Day event (featuring returning Community Day Pokémon), players can jump right into the New Year's festivities.

This year's event offers a fantastic bonus: catch Pokémon with Excellent Throws to earn 2,025 XP each! Enjoy the immersive atmosphere with festive decorations and fireworks illuminating the skies.

Expect increased encounters with special, costumed Pokémon. Look out for Jigglypuff (with a ribbon), Hoothoot (in a New Year's outfit), and Wurmple (sporting a party hat), including their Shiny variations!

Raids are also getting a festive makeover. One-star raids feature a snowflake-hatted Pikachu, while three-star raids offer party-hat-wearing Raticate and Wobbuffet. Shiny rates are boosted for all three!
