This artbook, titled "The Art of Assassin's Creed Shadows," spans several hundred pages filled with concept art, quotations, and development details, offering fans a sneak peek into the next installment of the beloved franchise.

Although the gallery was swiftly removed from its original site, it has since found a home on multiple file-sharing platforms and galleries. The leak is particularly intriguing as it comes just before the game's anticipated launch on March 20, 2025, after a delay from its original 2024 schedule to February, and then further postponed. IGN reached out to Ubisoft for a comment on the matter.

The leaked artbook showcases a variety of elements, including concepts of historical figures, intricate cityscapes, and an assortment of weapons. There are also hints at potential plot spoilers, although these cannot be confirmed until the game's official release. The authenticity of the images appears credible, adding to the anticipation surrounding Assassin's Creed Shadows.

In a recent preview event for Assassin's Creed Shadows, IGN had the chance to speak with the game's director, Charles Benoit. He explained that the delay was primarily to enhance the game's polish, without altering its core systems. "We did update a couple of things in progression to make it more engaging, also balancing a bit more," Benoit noted. The primary focus of the additional development time was the parkour system, which faced unique challenges due to the complexity of Japanese architecture during the Feudal era.

Benoit elaborated on the challenges: "The Japanese architecture, the roofs [are] super complex. Probably the most complex thing that I ever worked with if we compared to Odyssey and Syndicate. We needed specific codes and specific animations to support something super fluid, changing the transition of the parkour to make it even more fluid." He emphasized that this feedback was addressed, resulting in significant improvements over the last few months.
