Following player speculation, Warhorse Studios' PR head, Tobias Stolz-Zwilling, definitively stated during a recent Twitch stream that KCD2 will not include any DRM whatsoever, including Denuvo. He addressed the spread of misinformation and urged players to cease inquiries about DRM. Stolz-Zwilling emphasized that any claims of DRM integration are inaccurate unless officially announced by Warhorse Studios.

"KCD2 will not use Denuvo, or any DRM," Stolz-Zwilling clarified. "We never confirmed otherwise. There were some internal discussions, but ultimately, there will be no DRM at all." He appealed to fans, requesting an end to the persistent questions about DRM on their social media channels.

The absence of DRM is welcome news for many gamers concerned about potential performance impacts and negative experiences associated with DRM technologies, particularly Denuvo. Denuvo, while designed as anti-piracy software, has faced criticism for occasionally affecting game performance.

Denuvo's product manager, Andreas Ullmann, has previously acknowledged the negative perception of Denuvo, attributing it to misinformation and confirmation bias.
