"Xbox Franchise Rumored for Switch 2, PS5 Release"

Summary
- Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 are reportedly in the works for the PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2.
- The new versions of both games are said to be coming sometime in 2025.
- One insider believes "way more" first-party Xbox games are going multi-platform this year.
According to recent reports from industry insiders, Halo: The Master Chief Collection may soon be available on the PS5 and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. This news comes from NateTheHate, a well-known leaker who shared this information during his podcast on January 10. The insider suggests that these new versions of the six-game bundle are planned for release in 2025.
Similarly, Microsoft Flight Simulator is also rumored to be making its way to the PS5 and Switch 2. While NateTheHate didn't specify which installment, it's likely he was referring to the latest entry, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, which was released on November 19. This expansion to other platforms is also expected to happen in 2025.
Microsoft's strategy of bringing its first-party games to third-party consoles began in February 2024 with titles like Pentiment, Hi-Fi Rush, Grounded, and Sea of Thieves. As Dusk Falls, though not developed by a Microsoft subsidiary, also counts as part of this initiative due to its initial Xbox exclusivity. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 became available on non-Xbox platforms in October 2024, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is scheduled for the PS5 in spring 2025.
Adding to the buzz, another prominent Microsoft leaker, Jez Corden, has claimed on Twitter that "way more" Xbox games will be coming to the PS5 and Switch 2. Corden believes the era of Xbox console exclusives is over, a view he has consistently expressed in recent months.
Furthermore, the Call of Duty series is expected to expand to more platforms soon. Microsoft's agreement to bring Call of Duty games to Nintendo consoles for ten years, announced in late 2022, has yet to produce any Switch titles. This delay might be due to Microsoft waiting for the more powerful Switch 2, expected to better support modern military shooters with realistic graphics.
These developments signal a significant shift in Microsoft's gaming strategy, aiming to reach a broader audience across different platforms.
