The highly anticipated open world survival MMO, Dune: Awakening, inspired by Frank Herbert's iconic sci-fi novels and Denis Villeneuve's cinematic adaptations, has now been rescheduled for release on June 10, 2025. Developer Funcom announced this delay, also revealing that eager fans can gain early access to the game on June 5 by purchasing either the Deluxe Edition or Ultimate Edition.

Funcom cited feedback from the ongoing Persistent Closed Beta as the reason for the delay, explaining that the extra time would allow the team to "cook" the game further. This additional period will also enable them to incorporate changes suggested during the beta phase. Moreover, the delay paves the way for a "large-scale beta weekend next month," offering more players the chance to dive in and provide their insights.

While the delay might be disappointing for those eager to explore Arrakis as soon as possible, Funcom is set to host a combat livestream today at 12pm ET/9am PT. This event will delve into the game's PvP and PvE mechanics, along with details on archetypes and skills, offering fans a deeper look into the gameplay.
