This app lets you play "Taiko-san Jiro 2" TJA files on your Android device. Note that it only includes one sample song; you'll need to add your own music data.

Important Considerations:

  • Music File Location: Due to Android security enhancements, the default TJA folder from Taiko-san Daijiro 2 is no longer accessible. You must place your TJA files in: /Android/data/com.daijiro.taiko3/files/TJA. Use a file manager app to move files from previous versions. Download zip files directly to the app's folder. If genre.ini is missing, songs will be categorized as "Uncategorized."

  • Skin Support: The app supports skins from "Taiko-san Jiro 2" (some may not be fully implemented). Skins from other versions of Taiko-san Jiro are incompatible. Performance may be affected depending on your device and the skin used.

  • Genre.ini: This file is essential for genre folder recognition. Its format is:

[Genre]
GenreName=Genre Name
GenreColor=#66cc66
FontColor=#ffffffff

Example file structure:

/Android/data/com.daijiro.taiko3/files/TJA
└─genre1
  └─genre.ini
  └─songA.tja
  └─songA.ogg
└─genre2
  └─genre.ini
  └─songB.tja
  └─songB.ogg
  └─songC.tja
  └─songC.ogg
└─theme
  └─default.csv
  └─result.csv
  └─single.csv
  └─songselect.csv
  └─img
  └─sound
  • Device Compatibility: The app has not been tested on all Android devices. If the app doesn't launch, try closing background tasks before starting.

  • TJA and Skin Acquisition: The developers do not provide assistance with obtaining TJA files or skins.

  • Version 2.0.3 (November 23, 2022): Minor bug fixes.

Key Improvements from Taiko-san Daijiro 2:

  • Support for 60hz and higher refresh rate displays.
  • Compatibility with TJAPlayer3 gimmick scores (HBSCROLL, JPOSSCROLL, SUDDEN, complex scroll).
  • Added poses.
  • General bug fixes.

    Great for Taiko fans! I love how it plays TJA files, but I wish there were more sample songs included. After adding my own music, the experience is super fun and smooth. The UI is simple and responsive. Only issue is the folder setup is a bit confusing at first. Still, 5 stars for the nostalgia! 🥁
