TennoCon 2024 delivered a knockout punch with the announcement of Warframe: 1999, a major update promising a nostalgic trip back to 1999. This isn't just another expansion; it's a complete reimagining of the Warframe experience, blending retro aesthetics with cutting-edge gameplay.

The journey begins with a prologue quest, "The Lotus Eaters," launching in August 2024. This quest reunites players with a beloved character and sets the stage for the main event, introducing the world of 1999 and the new Warframe, Sevatgoth Prime, and its exclusive weaponry. Warframe: 1999 plunges players into an alternate 1999, where the Y2K bug manifests as a deadly virus threatening global annihilation. The setting is Höllvania, a vibrant 90s city corrupted by Techrot. Players navigate this retro-futuristic landscape on Atomicyles, futuristic vehicles capable of bullet jumps, drifts, and even explosive maneuvers.
