While Doctor Who is famous for time-hopping adventures, sonic screwdrivers, and regenerating, it also boasts an enormous collection of unforgettable monsters. With a new season of the show now airing, we're revisiting the Doctor's roster of foes to spotlight the most dangerous creatures our beloved Time Lord has ever encountered.
A few things to note before we start: We've excluded villains we feel don't fit the classic definition of a "monster," so you won't find the Master here. Also, while some of these beings originated in the classic series, every entry on our list has appeared in at least one televised story since the 2005 revival. We find the more recent creatures tend to be more impactful (and they're more familiar to us, anyway). With that out of the way, let's begin.
