A Reddit user recently shared a reply they received from Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney after emailing him with a straightforward question: when would Alan Wake 2 by Remedy be released on Steam?

Unfortunately for the gamer, Sweeney's response was brief and definitive. He stated simply that the release on Steam won't happen, offering no further comments. As a result, the disappointed user has decided to go with plan B: they intend to purchase the game on Xbox.

Alan Wake 2 distinguishes itself from most Epic Games Store exclusives because Epic Games not only published the horror title but also co-financed its development alongside Remedy. Remedy has stated that the sales of Alan Wake 2 were in line with business forecasts, and the studio expressed satisfaction with this collaboration. However, Remedy has announced that their future games will be self-published, which means they will be available on platforms like Steam as well. Despite this, more than a year after its release, the horror game has not yet turned a profit.
