Ubisoft has officially announced the global release times for the highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed Shadows. In a departure from previous titles in the series and other Ubisoft releases, Assassin’s Creed Shadows boasts a unified global release date, with no option for early access through additional payments.

For gamers on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be available starting at 12am local time on March 20. However, PC players need to note that release times vary depending on the platform. Those purchasing through Steam will experience different release times compared to those using Ubisoft's own platform, Ubi Connect.

Pre-loading is already available for Xbox Series X and S, PlayStation 5, and PC, ensuring players can dive into the game the moment it goes live.

The stakes are high for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, especially following several delays and the underwhelming sales of last year’s Star Wars Outlaws. Ubisoft is under intense scrutiny after facing numerous challenges, including high-profile flops, layoffs, studio closures, and game cancellations leading up to this release.

IGN's review of Assassin’s Creed Shadows awarded it an 8/10, praising the game for refining its open-world mechanics: “By sharpening the edges of its existing systems, Assassin’s Creed Shadows creates one of the best versions of the open-world style it’s been honing for the last decade.”
