Following last year's announcement of iPhone 16 support for the Backbone One 2nd-gen controller, Backbone now introduces the Backbone Pro, a next-generation controller designed for both wireless Bluetooth connectivity and direct USB-C connection to devices.

The USB-C option delivers zero-latency performance and eliminates the need for charging, while the wireless mode offers enhanced portability and flexibility. The Backbone Pro stands out for its compatibility across a wide range of devices, including phones, tablets, laptops, smart TVs, and VR headsets.

Designed as a universal controller, the Backbone Pro leverages FlowState Technology to seamlessly switch between previously paired devices. The team behind it claims to have achieved the smallest form factor yet while incorporating full-sized joysticks, a significant engineering accomplishment.

The controller offers customization options, including remappable back buttons, and pairs with the Backbone app for easy access to games on platforms like Apple Arcade, Netflix, Xbox Remote Play, Steam Link, and Nvidia GeForce NOW. Backbone+ subscribers can also explore a free library of games.
