Bandai Namco's popular fortress strategy RPG, Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage, is officially closing its doors. This isn't entirely unexpected for many players, mirroring the fate of other Naruto gacha games like Naruto Blazing, which also struggled with gameplay imbalances and ultimately shut down.

Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage's Final Days

Launched in 2017, the game enjoyed a nearly seven-year run. However, its final day will be December 9th, 2024. Players can continue enjoying the game until then.

Several final events are planned:

• Village Leader World Championship: October 8th - 18th
• All-Out Mission: October 18th - November 1st
• "Thanks For Everything" Campaign: November 1st - December 1st

Players can still collect Ninja Cards, participate in summoning events, and utilize in-game items until the shutdown. Any remaining Gold Coins should be spent before the game ends.

The Decline of Ninja Voltage

While initially successful with its balanced village-building, trap-setting, and character-defense mechanics, the game's trajectory shifted. The introduction of Minato seemingly exacerbated power creep, alienating players. Increased pay-to-win elements, reduced free-to-play rewards, and the near-disappearance of multiplayer features contributed to its decline, making the eventual shutdown foreseeable. The game remains available on the Google Play Store for those who wish to try it.
