Batman '89 Sequel Reveals Burton's Riddler
Tim Burton's Batman universe continues to grow with the upcoming release of "Batman: Resurrection," a new novel by John Jackson Miller published by Penguin Random House. This story introduces Burton's unique take on The Riddler and is currently available for preorder on Amazon.
According to ComicBook.com, "Revolution" serves as a sequel to 2024's "Batman: Resurrection," also written by Miller. Set between the events of 1989's "Batman" and 1992's "Batman Returns," the novel incorporates elements from Burton's unrealized third Batman film that once considered Robin Williams for the Riddler role.

Here's the official synopsis for "Batman: Revolution":
Summer arrives in Gotham City with much fanfare. The remaining traces of The Joker's reign have dissipated, allowing the mayor to collaborate with business tycoon Max Shreck on an extravagant Fourth of July event. Yet beneath the celebrations, tensions simmer in Gotham. Batman remains ever-vigilant as gang conflicts intensify, while public protests erupt against the city's extravagant displays.
Caught between Gotham's hope and disillusionment is Norman Pinkus, an unassuming copy boy at the Gotham Globe who secretly authors the newspaper's popular Riddle Me This puzzles. Despite his genius intellect and years of anonymously solving crimes through police tips—often before Batman even detects them—he remains unacknowledged.
When the city's leaders repeatedly overlook him in favor of their masked savior, Norman's frustration grows. Teaming with dangerous allies, he manipulates Gotham's social unrest into a deadly game of wits against Batman under his new identity: The Riddler. Their battle will uncover buried truths that could reshape Gotham's destiny.
"Batman: Revolution" hits shelves on October 28, 2025, with preorders available through Amazon.
