Rebel Wolves, a studio comprised of former CD Projekt Red developers, recently showcased their upcoming open-world dark fantasy action-RPG, The Blood of Dawnwalker, at a game reveal event. This narrative-driven title promises a unique experience.

Embark on Coen's Journey

Players assume the role of Coen, a Dawnwalker – a being existing between human and vampire – in the fictional 14th-century European setting of Vale Sangora. Unlike typical protagonists, Coen is portrayed as emotionally complex and vulnerable. His quest: to save his family within a 30-day/night timeframe, against the backdrop of a crumbling civilization ruled by the antagonist Brencis, a powerful vampire. While the game features a time constraint, the developers emphasize extended gameplay hours. Coen's abilities showcase his unique nature, including superhuman agility and the capacity for occult magic.

Addressing fan questions on Discord, Rebel Wolves clarified the Dawnwalker nature. They are not simply hybrids, but a distinct entity. The game's magic system emphasizes the occult, focusing on rituals, amulets, and summonings, rather than spectacular spellcasting.

A Narrative Sandbox with Choices

The Blood of Dawnwalker offers a "narrative sandbox" experience, prioritizing player agency and freedom. While the core objective remains saving Coen's family, players will have numerous paths to achieve this goal, leading to a non-linear storyline and a dynamic world influenced by their decisions.

To maintain this single-player focus, multiplayer and co-op modes are absent. However, the game features romanceable characters, allowing Coen to forge relationships with various races, including uriashi, kobolds, and potentially even werewolves.
