Krafton’s termination of its agreement with Ironmace Studio will result in a name change for Dark and Darker Mobile. While Krafton denies any connection to the recent $6 million lawsuit ruling against Ironmace by Nexon, the timing is undeniably suspicious. The lawsuit centers on allegations that Ironmace, founded by former Nexon employees, used trade secrets from Nexon’s cancelled project, codenamed P3, to develop Dark and Darker.

Despite the controversy and the severed partnership, Krafton intends to proceed with the global launch of the mobile game, albeit under a new name. This makes the mobile version a fully independent release, separate from Ironmace’s involvement.

The irony is not lost: Ironmace initially sued Nexon for copyright infringement. Now, with Krafton seemingly continuing development under a new title, the precedent for similar game releases has been set.

While the name change and altered development path present uncertainties, Krafton remains committed to the previously announced global release date for Dark and Darker Mobile.
