Diablo 4 Season 5 may introduce Frostmourne, the legendary World of Warcraft weapon, for players to wield. Data mining on the Season 5 Public Test Realm (PTR) revealed models strongly resembling this iconic Lich King blade. The PTR is live until July 2nd, with Season 5's full release anticipated for August.

The discovery, made by Wowhead, shows two Frostmourne models, hinting at both one-handed and two-handed versions. While its exact in-game function remains unknown (cosmetic item, legendary weapon, or other), the possibility of wielding Frostmourne in Diablo 4 is exciting.

Frostmourne's Significance:

Frostmourne's infamy in Warcraft lore is undeniable. It's the cursed blade that corrupted Arthas, transforming him into the Lich King. Although destroyed and reforged in later WoW expansions, it's never been directly wieldable in World of Warcraft. Diablo 4 could thus offer a unique opportunity.

Previous WoW Crossovers:

This isn't the first time Diablo 4 has featured WoW elements. Last October, the Invincible mount and a Frostmourne replica were available as cash shop cosmetics. However, the Season 5 addition might allow actual weapon use, not just display.

Weapon Versatility:

Season 5 expands weapon options for several Diablo 4 classes. Druids gain access to polearms, one-handed swords, and daggers; Necromancers can use maces and axes; and Sorcerers unlock one-handed swords and maces. A one-handed Frostmourne would be usable by every class.
