Crossplay in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6: A Double-Edged Sword and How to Disable It

Cross-platform play has revolutionized online gaming, uniting the Call of Duty community. However, crossplay isn't without its drawbacks. This guide explains how to disable crossplay in Black Ops 6 and the implications of doing so.

The Crossplay Dilemma

Disabling crossplay in Black Ops 6 presents a trade-off. Many players disable it to create a more level playing field, particularly console players seeking to avoid PC players. PC players often possess a significant advantage due to the superior precision of mouse and keyboard controls over controllers. Furthermore, PC players may have easier access to mods and cheats, impacting fair play despite anti-cheat measures like Ricochet. Disabling crossplay theoretically reduces encounters with cheaters.

The downside? Disabling crossplay significantly shrinks the player pool, potentially leading to longer matchmaking times and less optimal connections with other players.

How to Disable Crossplay

Disabling crossplay is relatively simple. Access the Account & Network settings. The Crossplay and Crossplay Communications toggles are located near the top. Toggle the Crossplay setting from "On" to "Off" using X or A (depending on your controller). This can be done within Black Ops 6, Warzone, or the main Call of Duty menu. Important Considerations
