A Kindling Forest, a new action-adventure game from solo developer and high school teacher Dennis Berndtsson, offers a unique side-scrolling auto-runner experience. Prepare for a thrilling journey filled with clever mechanics, challenging obstacles, and plenty of lava!
The Quest Begins:
An ancient demon threatens the world, prompting forest spirits to awaken a long-dormant archer. Armed with a bow and arrow, he embarks on a perilous mission to vanquish the evil entity. But this isn't your average run-of-the-mill adventure.
Constant Motion and Strategic Shooting:
The screen continuously scrolls, presenting a relentless barrage of sharp, unpredictable obstacles. Players must skillfully dodge or shoot these hazards using their arrows – their only lifeline. Running out of arrows means game over, making every shot crucial.
Five Levels of Increasing Difficulty:
A Kindling Forest features five progressively challenging levels. Expect to navigate treacherous landscapes, leaping over spiders, teleporting through ruins, soaring across clouds, and dodging streams of lava. Strategically placed checkpoints provide a safety net, allowing players to restart and refine their approach.
Dual-Screen Controls and Precise Timing:
The game utilizes a split-screen control scheme: one half for jumping, the other for shooting. Precise timing is paramount. A helpful slow-motion effect during aiming provides a crucial window for lining up shots.
