"Dragon Age: The Veilguard Unveils Free Weapon DLC After Months"

BioWare may have largely moved on from Dragon Age: The Veilguard, but that hasn't stopped its dedicated remaining team from adding a delightful surprise: a small DLC weapons pack. This unexpected addition has sparked excitement among Dragon Age fans, especially after the RPG's Steam page was updated to include the free Rook’s Weapons Appearance Offer. Given EA's earlier indication that Dragon Age: The Veilguard would receive minimal future support, this new content feels like a small miracle. Although the fifth patch in January emphasized fixing game-breaking bugs, the addition of brand-new content, even if modest, is a welcome change.
Surprisingly, the Rook’s Weapons Appearances bundle is exclusively available to current owners of the game and those who purchase it on PC before April 8, 2025. While the specifics of the bundle remain undisclosed, players have discovered that it includes a set of Watchful skins accessible in the Rook’s in-game room. It's uncertain whether this offer will extend to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S versions of the game.
“Even if these appearances aren't the most, uh, beautiful things ever,” one Steam review humorously notes, “they do give spooky eldritch horror vibes!”
“It's cosmetic DLC, but it's essentially free DLC for a game that's practically no longer getting newer content,” a Redditor remarked. “I'll live with that.”

Dragon Age: The Veilguard launched to positive reviews from critics in October, but according to EA, it failed to “resonate with a broad enough audience.” Consequently, lead members of the team announced their departure from BioWare in late January, as many staff members were either laid off or reassigned to other roles within the company. At the time, EA informed IGN that the studio was shifting its “full focus” on the next Mass Effect.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard joined the PlayStation Plus March 2025 titles lineup, just four months after its launch. No further plans for its future have been announced, leaving fans to cherish this unexpected DLC as a final gift from the game's developers.
