Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio is releasing a free demo for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth’s spin-off, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, today! Available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, the demo launches at 7am Pacific / 10am Eastern / 3pm UK. The full game arrives February 21st, also on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but these platforms will miss out on the demo.

While RGG Studio hasn't confirmed save transfer from the demo to the full game, its content suggests otherwise. The demo offers early access to freeroam areas and battles, bypassing the game's natural story progression.

Players can explore parts of Honolulu and Madlantis—locations unavailable at the game's start—switch between Mad Dog and Sea Dog fighting styles, battle powerful bounty enemies, engage in four ship and deck battles within the Pirates' Coliseum, experiment with new customization options, and even enjoy karaoke with three selectable songs.

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, a spin-off sequel to Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth (the eighth mainline entry, or ninth including Yakuza 0), follows amnesiac Goro Majima's unlikely pirate adventure in Hawaii. The October Xbox Partner Showcase trailer showcased ship combat reminiscent of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and the return of Taiga Saejima, hinting at stronger ties to the main series.

Expect a longer experience than Like a Dragon: Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name; the story clocks in at approximately 15-18 hours. Fans can even dress Majima as Kiryu Kazuma, but only by subscribing to email notifications or a Sega rewards program.
