Funcom announced on their official website on April 25 that they are dedicating a weekend to a global beta test of Dune: Awakening. Alongside this announcement, they unveiled a new trailer showcasing cinematic cutscenes and intriguing story snippets, giving players a glimpse into the game's narrative.

The beta test is set to welcome a significant number of new players and, unlike previous closed betas, will not be under an NDA. This means participants can freely share their experiences and even stream them online. As per the announcement, "With access to the first 20 hours of the game and most of Act 1 of the story, you will get a taste of both spice and story."
