The developers behind the PvPvE action game Dungeonborne, which drew inspiration from the acclaimed Dark and Darker, have officially announced the cessation of support and the impending closure of the game's servers. Despite an initial surge of interest, Dungeonborne struggled to maintain its player base over its less-than-a-year lifespan, primarily due to dwindling player engagement and a noticeable absence of substantial updates.

While Dungeonborne's page remains visible on Steam, it has been removed from the platform's search results and can only be accessed via a direct link. Although the official reasons for the game's shutdown remain undisclosed, it's evident that the critically low player numbers were a significant factor. From late 2024 onwards, the game barely managed to attract 200 concurrent players, with recent figures plummeting to a mere 10-15 active users.

The servers for Dungeonborne are scheduled for permanent closure on May 28, effectively concluding the game's journey. This marks the end of a project that, despite its promising start, failed to fulfill its potential and will now recede into gaming history.
