In the eagerly awaited cooperative action game, Elden Ring Nightreign, fans might be surprised to learn that the notorious poisonous swamps, a hallmark of From Software's games, will not make an appearance. This was revealed by the project's product manager, Yasuhiro Kitao, during a recent interview with journalists. Although a similar-looking location was teased in the Elden Ring Nightreign trailer, Kitao clarified that it represents an entirely different area.

The decision to exclude the poisonous swamps stems from the absence of Hidetaka Miyazaki, the head of From Software, who is renowned for his affection for swampy environments. It is Miyazaki's passion that has led to the inclusion of these challenging zones in titles like Elden Ring and the Dark Souls series. However, he did not participate in the development of Elden Ring Nightreign.

On another exciting note, there's potential for Elden Ring Nightreign to introduce a two-player mode. Initially, the developers had only confirmed single-player and three-player cooperative modes, citing content balancing issues as the reason for omitting a two-player option. Yet, From Software is currently contemplating the addition of this feature, though a final decision is pending.

Elden Ring Nightreign is set to launch on May 30, 2025, and will be available on PC as well as two generations of gaming consoles, promising an expansive and thrilling gaming experience for fans around the world.
