Meridiem Games, Omori's European publisher, has announced the cancellation of the game's physical release for Switch and PS4 in Europe. The reason cited is technical difficulties related to multilingual European localization.

The cancellation, announced via Twitter (X), follows a series of delays. While initially slated for a March 2023 release, the European physical edition was repeatedly pushed back, first to December 2023, then to March 2024, and finally to January 2025. Pre-orders on platforms like Amazon were subsequently canceled. Meridiem Games offered no further details beyond the initial statement regarding the localization issues.

This news is undoubtedly frustrating for many fans, particularly given that this would have been the first official release of the game in Spanish and other European languages. European players still have the option of importing a US physical copy, but the official localized release is no longer happening.

Omori, an RPG centered around Sunny, a young boy grappling with trauma, blends reality and a surreal dreamscape where he becomes Omori. Initially launched on PC in December 2020, it later expanded to Switch, PS4, and Xbox in 2022. However, the Xbox version was removed due to an issue with merchandise previously sold by the developer, leaving Xbox players without access.
