This fake app, deceptively presented with modified screenshots and a fabricated mobile HUD, is free initially but demands a steep $29.99 monthly subscription fee. Crucially, there is no official mobile version of Baldur's Gate 3.
The app's developer, listed as "Dmytro Turuk," omits key details like the game's Dungeons & Dragons origins and Larian Studios' involvement. The suspicious title, "Baldurs Gate 3 - Mobile Turuk," further highlights its illegitimate nature.
Data Theft Concerns:
While visually obvious to many, the app's free initial download could lure unsuspecting users. Its terms of service reveal a concerning data collection policy, potentially logging user IP addresses and other sensitive information. This isn't the first instance of a Baldur's Gate 3 scam app, and likely won't be the last. Currently, similar fraudulent apps haven't been reported on the Android store.
