Early in your *Monster Hunter Wilds* adventure, the Windward Plains serve as your primary hunting ground for Sharp Fangs. These fangs are essential for crafting early-game gear sets like the Chatacabra and Talioth armor. To begin your hunt, consider undertaking optional quests like "Beware the Chatacabra" or "The Desert is Demanding." These quests grant you a generous 50-minute time limit within the Windward Plains. Remember to prepare with a hearty meal before you set out.

Once in the Windward Plains, head to Area 8—the largest area on the map—where various smaller monsters roam. While several creatures here can drop Sharp Fangs, the Gaijo is your best bet.

Gaijos: Your Primary Target

Gaijos, small leviathan-like creatures resembling crocodiles, are usually found near or in riverbeds, often solitary. Their locations are easily identified on the interactive map by scanning for purple diamonds near water sources. These relatively weak monsters are easily dispatched, even with early-game weapons.
