My Father Lied: Lovecraftian Puzzle Game Hits Android This Year

In the vast sea of video games, finding something truly unique can be a challenge. Yet, "My Father Lied" stands out with its compelling blend of mystery and Lovecraftian puzzle adventure, primarily due to its captivating story.
My Father Lied Is Made by an Indie Developer
The creation story of "My Father Lied" is as fascinating as the game itself. Ahmed Alameen, the game's developer, initially carved a career as a writer and filmmaker. In 2020, a college friend proposed a game collaboration, but the team disbanded before the project could begin. Despite this setback, Ahmed was captivated by the story he envisioned. Determined to bring it to life, he embarked on a solo journey, teaching himself 3D modeling and Unreal Engine. The game's title itself was a result of a creative brainstorming session with his wife, showcasing the personal touch behind the project.
So, What’s the Game’s Story?
"My Father Lied" immerses players in a narrative steeped in ancient Mesopotamian myths, filled with secrets, puzzles, and surprises. You play as Huda, a young woman haunted by the mystery of her father's disappearance for twenty years. As the story unfolds, you'll discover that the truth is far from straightforward.
Drawing inspiration from 7,000 years of Mesopotamian culture, the game weaves ancient tales with contemporary narratives. The puzzles are designed in a simple point-and-click format, featuring beautiful 2D visuals and immersive 360-degree images, making the gameplay accessible yet engaging.
When Is It Coming to Android?
"My Father Lied" is set to launch on PC on May 30th, 2025. Android and iOS versions will follow in the third quarter of 2025. For more details, you can visit the game's official Kickstarter page or its Steam page.
As of now, the game is not available on the Google Play Store. Following the Steam launch, the developers are expected to focus on preparing the mobile versions. In the meantime, keep an eye out for our next update on "Apocalyptic Seas in High Seas Hero," now available on Android.
