Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack adds two classic F-Zero GBA racers!

F-Zero Climax on Switch Online Get ready to experience the thrill of high-speed anti-gravity racing! Nintendo has announced the arrival of two beloved F-Zero Game Boy Advance titles to the Switch Online + Expansion Pack service.

F-Zero: GP Legend and F-Zero Climax – Coming October 11, 2024

F-Zero GP Legend on Switch Online Starting October 11th, 2024, subscribers can enjoy the futuristic racing action of F-Zero: GP Legend and the previously Japan-exclusive F-Zero Climax.

The F-Zero franchise, a cornerstone of Nintendo's racing legacy, debuted in Japan over 30 years ago (1990). Known for its groundbreaking speed and innovative gameplay, it significantly influenced other racing games, including SEGA's Daytona USA. The series pushed the technological boundaries of its time, setting a new standard for speed on SNES and beyond.

Like Mario Kart, F-Zero features intense races filled with track obstacles and rival machine battles. The series' iconic protagonist, Captain Falcon, even made his mark in the Super Smash Bros. universe.

F-Zero: GP Legend initially launched in Japan in 2003, followed by a global release in 2004. F-Zero Climax, released in Japan in 2004, remained region-locked until now, marking a 19-year wait for international players. In a past interview, F-Zero designer Takaya Imamura cited Mario Kart's popularity as a contributing factor to the series' extended hiatus.

This October 2024 update to the Switch Online + Expansion Pack brings both titles to subscribers, offering Grand Prix, story modes, and various time trials. Prepare for intense competition!
