A recent leak suggests Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.1 will include a free 4-star character selector, likely part of a limited-time event. This follows the game's recent trend of releasing more 5-star characters, leaving fewer 4-star additions.

The selector, according to prominent leaker HomDGCat, will offer a choice between Qingque, Pela, Serval, and Asta. Interestingly, all four are from the game's initial 1.0 cycle, with Asta even being an early-game acquisition. This fuels speculation that developer HoYoverse may not be releasing new 4-star units anytime soon, especially considering rumors of an influx of 5-star characters in upcoming updates, including the anticipated Amphoreus update and a Fate/Stay Night crossover.

The leaked selector presents a mixed bag of characters. While Pela and Asta remain viable support units, Qingque and Serval have been outclassed by newer DPS options. Furthermore, all four are available for purchase in the in-game store.
