PlayStation and Sucker Punch Productions have announced that the eagerly awaited sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, Ghost of Yōtei, will hit the shelves on October 2, 2025. On April 23, a new trailer titled "The Onryō’s List" was released, offering a glimpse into the game's story and showcasing gameplay footage. The trailer culminates with the exciting reveal of the release date.

Set in the heart of Ezo (modern-day Hokkaido), Ghost of Yōtei follows the journey of Atsu, who seeks vengeance against the notorious Yōtei Six, a group of outlaws responsible for the murder of her family and her near-death. Atsu's mission is to track down and eliminate each member of the gang: The Snake, The Oni, The Kitsune, The Spider, The Dragon, and Lord Saito.

As a standalone sequel, Ghost of Yōtei is set 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima. Earlier this year, the developers shared insights into the game's new features, including an array of new weapons and mechanics, building on the success of its predecessor.

Hunt Down The Yōtei Six Your Way

Ghost of Yōtei offers players the freedom to pursue the Yōtei Six in any order they choose, crafting their unique path of revenge. On April 23, Sucker Punch elaborated on the game’s features in a post on PlayStation.blog, shedding light on Atsu’s journey and the game's unfolding narrative.

The game introduces an enhanced open-world exploration system, providing players with greater freedom and variety compared to Ghost of Tsushima. Beyond the main quest of hunting down the Yōtei Six, players can engage in various activities in the expansive region of Ezo. According to the blog post, "Atsu can also track other dangerous targets and claim bounties, or seek out weapon sensei to learn new skills."

As players traverse the world, they'll encounter familiar activities from the previous game, including the beloved "Guiding Wind" feature. A new mechanic allows players to set up campfires anywhere in the open world, emphasizing the developers' focus on player freedom in the vast landscape of Ezo. Pre-orders for Ghost of Yōtei will commence on May 2 at 10:00 AM ET. The standard edition, priced at $69.99, will be available both at retail and on the PlayStation Store. Pre-order bonuses for any edition include:
