Freedom to Hunt the Yotei Six

In a recent Famitsu interview, Sucker Punch developers shared exciting updates about this sequel to Ghost of Tsushima. Creative Director Jason Cornell emphasized the game's unprecedented freedom, stating players can independently locate and confront the Yotei Six for vengeance.

Following last week's PS5 release date announcement, the new "The Onryō's List" trailer introduced protagonist Atsu and her quest against the Yotei Six.

Expanded Melee Arsenal

Beyond exploration freedom, players gain more combat options. Creative Director Nate Fox confirmed additional weapons including odachi, chain sickles, dual swords, and spears - all learned from in-game masters.

Fox noted Atsu's unrestricted combat style differs from Jin's samurai code, allowing her to improvise with battlefield weapons. "You can pick up certain dropped weapons and throw them at enemies," he explained.

The Wilds of Ezo

Set in 1603 Hokkaido (then called Ezo), Cornell describes the environment as "a lawless frontier where danger hides within breathtaking nature." The team conducted extensive research on Ainu culture, visiting Hokkaido museums and consulting cultural experts.

Building on Ghost of Tsushima's praised cultural authenticity, Ghost of Yotei aims to faithfully represent Ezo's wilderness and indigenous traditions.
