Following March's Godzilla vs. Fantastic Four #1 and April's Godzilla vs. Hulk #1, Godzilla vs. Spider-Man #1 throws us back to a classic era. The story unfolds after 1984's Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars, shortly after Peter Parker's return from Battleworld and his initial struggles with the alien symbiote. He'll need every bit of his newfound power to defend his city from the colossal threat of Godzilla.

Written by Joe Kelly (soon to helm the relaunch of The Amazing Spider-Man), and illustrated by Nick Bradshaw (with cover art by Bradshaw, Lee Garbett, and Greg Land), this issue promises a unique blend of action and nostalgia.

"The moment I heard about a '80s-set Godzilla/Spidey crossover, I practically jumped across the table to claim it," Kelly shared with IGN. "This book is pure, unadulterated fun, pitting two icons against each other in a chaotic '80s setting that mirrors my own comic-collecting days. While DC recently released Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong (with a sequel on the way), this Marvel series focuses on Toho's classic Godzilla, offering a different take on the monster mash-up. This announcement also follows the unveiling of IDW's Godzilla vs. Los Angeles #1, a charity anthology benefiting wildfire relief efforts.
