On January 5th, 2025, YouTuber Doctre81 sparked speculation about Gotham Knights appearing on the Nintendo Switch 2. The source? A game developer's resume listing work on Gotham Knights for two yet-to-be-released platforms.

This developer, employed by QLOC from 2018 to 2023, boasts a portfolio including Mortal Kombat 11 and Tales of Vesperia. The intriguing addition: Gotham Knights, specifically noted as destined for two unannounced consoles.

It's crucial to remember: no official confirmation exists from Warner Bros. Games or Nintendo. Take this with a grain of salt. However, the Nintendo Switch 2 is currently the only highly anticipated, unreleased console.

Past Switch Rating and Subsequent Removal

Initially launched in October 2022 for PS5, Windows, and Xbox Series X, Gotham Knights briefly received an ESRB rating for the original Nintendo Switch, fueling speculation of a release and potential Nintendo Direct appearance. This rating, however, was later removed.

While the original Switch port failed to materialize, the past ESRB rating, coupled with the recent YouTube report, reignites hopes for a Switch 2 release.

Switch 2 Backwards Compatibility and Official Announcements
