That said, there are a few other hints suggesting a release date announcement might be near. A recent Xbox Wire post about indie games included a subtle reference to Silksong, though it might have just been a playful nod. More notably, there have been some recent backend updates to the game's Steam listing, including a copyright year change. Of course, we've also spent years getting excited over Silksong appearing and then disappearing from various console storefronts without explanation. So, ultimately, who can say for sure?

The one thing we know with absolute certainty comes from Team Cherry's marketing and publishing lead, Matthew 'Leth' Griffin, who stated back in January following the cake incident: "Yes, the game is real, it's progressing, and it will be released." For now, all we can do is wait and imagine what the gaming landscape will look like once Silksong is finally in our hands.
