Huawei AppGallery Awards 2024: Five Years of App Store Innovation
The 2024 Huawei AppGallery Awards have concluded, revealing some unexpected winners that are sure to generate buzz among mobile gaming enthusiasts. While the Pocket Gamer Awards may set a high bar, the Huawei AppGallery Awards, celebrating their fifth anniversary, offer a compelling alternative perspective.
Summoners War's victory as Game of the Year sets the tone for this year's unique selection. The winners showcase a different flavor compared to more traditional awards ceremonies.
Here's a breakdown of the other category winners:
- Best Action Game: PUBG Mobile
- Best RPG Games: Hero Wars: Alliance, Epic Seven
- Best SLG Games: Evony: The King's Return, World of Tanks Blitz
- Best Family Games: Candy Crush Saga, Gardenscapes
- Best Trending Games: Mecha Domination: Rampage, Tokyo Ghoul: Break the Chains
A Global Perspective
Some of the choices might differ from personal preferences, highlighting a potential Western bias in other award shows. The Huawei AppGallery Awards, however, appear to prioritize games popular in other regions of the world. This diversity is a welcome addition to the mobile gaming awards landscape.
With the rise of alternative app stores, the Huawei AppGallery Awards are likely to gain even more recognition and influence.
