Is the Staff of Ice Available from the Mystery Box on The Tomb?

In Black Ops II Zombies, players crafted the Staff of Ice by collecting three components. This remains true in Black Ops 6, but players eager to dive into The Tomb’s action can also obtain the Staff of Ice via the Mystery Box. However, this method depends on random chance. Using the “Wunderbar!” GobbleGum may improve your odds, but it’s not a sure bet, as the Ray Gun is also in the pool. To bypass luck, follow the steps below to craft the Staff of Ice reliably.

Crafting the Staff of Ice on The Tomb in Black Ops 6 Zombies

Obtaining the Staff of Ice Monocle on The Tomb

As in Black Ops II, crafting the Staff of Ice in Black Ops 6 requires gathering three parts. The Monocle is typically the first piece players acquire in a match on The Tomb. It drops from the first Shock Mimic you defeat. After eliminating the Shock Mimic, approach the Monocle and press the interact button to add it to your inventory.

Securing the Staff of Ice Head Piece on The Tomb

The next two components involve similar challenges. Both require solving a puzzle and surviving a lockdown. These pieces can be collected in any order, offering flexibility in your approach.

To obtain the Head Piece, navigate to the Neolithic Catacombs. Locate the cave painting wall and shoot its lit sections. If the wall isn’t illuminated, use the Dark Aether lanterns in the area. Shoot a lantern with purple fire, and after a short delay (often at the start of the next round), the fire will move to another lantern. Once the lantern nearest the painted wall is lit, the wall’s symbols will become visible.

If no lanterns are active, visit the Dark Aether Nexus and return. If they still don’t appear, advance a few rounds to trigger their spawn.

Shoot the symbols in ascending Roman Numeral order: I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X. If you hit the wrong symbol, you can continue from the last correct one. Use a bullet-based weapon, as explosive or splash-damage weapons may disrupt the sequence.

Once the symbols are shot correctly, a constellation will light up on the wall, initiating a lockdown. You’ll be confined to the area and face waves of zombies and special enemies. This can be tough, so tackle it on a low round with armor, perks, and a Pack-a-Punched weapon. After surviving, collect the Head Piece from the mural wall.

Acquiring the Staff of Ice Staff Piece on The Tomb

The final piece is the Staff itself, obtained through a process similar to the Head Piece. Go to the Tombs room and shoot the lanterns until the purple fire reaches the one nearest the Bull Mural, depicting a bull charging left at Romans. Once lit, the mural will display Roman Numerals. Shoot them in ascending order: I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII. This triggers another lockdown. Survive the zombie onslaught to claim the Staff piece, which can then be assembled in the Dark Aether Nexus.

Completing the Staff of Ice on The Tomb

With all three parts in hand, open the Door to Nowhere if needed and proceed to the Dark Aether Nexus. At the central structure, place the parts by holding the interact button. This triggers an intense wave of zombies, special, and possibly elite enemies attacking the Staff. Defend it until assembly completes. Stock up on perks, upgrade weapons, and consider using GobbleGums like Kill Joy or Free Fire to boost damage.

If you successfully protect the Staff, it will be fully assembled and ready for use.
