MachineGames confirms: No harm will come to dogs in the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. This decision marks a departure from the developer's previous, more violent titles.

A Family-Friendly Approach

Creative Director Jens Andersson explained to IGN that the decision stems from the family-friendly nature of the Indiana Jones IP. While the game will feature combat with human enemies, canine encounters will be non-lethal. Instead of harming dogs, Indy will focus on scaring them away.

Andersson stated, "Indiana Jones is a dog person," highlighting the developer's commitment to aligning the gameplay with the character's personality. This contrasts sharply with previous MachineGames titles, such as Wolfenstein, where animal combat was a common feature.

Gameplay Details and Release Dates

Set in 1937, between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle follows Indy's pursuit of stolen artifacts. His adventure spans diverse locations, from the Vatican to Egyptian pyramids and even submerged temples. His trusty whip serves as both a traversal tool and a weapon, but thankfully, will remain canine-safe.
