NetEase Games has revealed Sea of Remnants, a new RPG for PS5, PC, and mobile platforms. Developed by Joker Studio, known for Identity V, and published by NetEase, the game is slated for a 2026 launch.

What’s the Plot?

You start as a puppetfolk sailor, recruiting and training over 300 companions for combat. The game features exploration, customizable ships with modular components, and turn-based battles. It offers an open-world experience centered on solo play.

The narrative revolves around memory and loss. Sailors who venture into the Sea of Remnants lose their most valued abilities, yet they return repeatedly. The sea itself is woven from memories—yours and those of long-forgotten captains.

Orbtopia, a vibrant pirate city, serves as your docking hub. Filled with the aroma of sizzling oil and bustling with roosters and cats in its alleys, Orbtopia evolves based on your decisions.

Dynamic real-time weather shapes your adventure. Sunshine can swiftly turn to storms, whirlpools alter the map, and leviathans emerge from the clouds. From volcanic isles to eerie ruins, survival is a constant challenge.

Sea of Remnants to Launch as Free-to-Play on Mobile

The game is confirmed as free-to-play, with no explicit mention of gacha mechanics. However, given its expansive roster, modular systems, and live-service goals, some form of loot-based features may emerge later.
