Killing Floor 3 Delayed to Later in 2025

Tripwire Interactive announced a significant delay for Killing Floor 3 (KF3), pushing the release date to a later, unspecified time in 2025. This decision comes just three weeks before the originally planned March 25th launch, following overwhelmingly negative feedback from the closed beta test.

Disappointing Beta Test Results

In a Bluesky post on March 7th, 2025, Tripwire cited numerous issues uncovered during the beta as the reason for the delay. The developer acknowledged falling short of expectations, stating their commitment to delivering a game that both innovates and upholds the core Killing Floor experience. Specific areas needing improvement include performance, stability, user interface/user experience (UI/UX), lighting, and weapon feel.

Online player reaction to the beta was strongly negative. Many criticized the game's clunkiness, numerous glitches, and departure from the series' established horror elements in favor of a more sci-fi aesthetic. Concerns were also raised about the character and class selection system in the beta. One Reddit user, Captain_Pugman, poignantly summarized the sentiment: "At what point did you forget what made Killing Floor special?"

Tripwire expressed their commitment to addressing these concerns and promised to provide updates as development progresses.

Pre-Order Refunds

Tripwire's Senior Community Manager, Yoshiro, detailed the pre-order refund process. Automatic cancellations and refunds will be issued for PlayStation, Xbox, and Epic Games Store pre-orders. US PlayStation users will have the option to retain their pre-order, but it will automatically cancel if no action is taken. Steam users will need to initiate refunds manually through the Steam support system. Refunds for other platforms will be handled according to each vendor's individual policies.
