Developed originally by Grasshopper Manufacture (known for No More Heroes), Lollipop Chainsaw features fast-paced, chainsaw-fueled zombie combat. While the original developers didn't helm the remaster, Dragami Games delivered a visually enhanced experience with improved quality-of-life features.

This sales milestone, announced by Dragami Games on Twitter, covers all current and last-gen consoles, as well as PC. The game's popularity several months after its September 2024 launch is a testament to its enduring appeal.

The game casts players as Juliet Starling, a cheerleader turned zombie-slaying heroine. Using her trusty chainsaw, she battles hordes of undead and formidable bosses in a stylish, hack-and-slash experience reminiscent of Bayonetta.

The original 2012 release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 achieved even greater success, selling over a million copies. This initial success was likely fueled by the unique collaboration between Goichi Suda and James Gunn, whose creative partnership shaped the game's narrative.

While future DLC or a sequel remains unconfirmed, the success of Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP bodes well for remasters of other niche titles.
