As announced by The Hollywood Reporter, the biopic will explore Madden's multifaceted legacy – his coaching prowess, his iconic broadcasting career, and his pivotal role in creating one of the most influential sports video game series. The film's timing coincides with the recent release of Madden NFL 25.

The movie delves into the development and meteoric rise of the Madden NFL games. Madden collaborated with Electronic Arts in the 1980s, resulting in the groundbreaking "John Madden Football" (1988), which laid the foundation for the enduring Madden NFL series.
