For Magic: The Gathering enthusiasts eagerly anticipating the upcoming Final Fantasy set, June might seem like a distant dream. However, to keep the excitement alive, Wizards of the Coast has treated fans to an exclusive first look at over a dozen new cards from the set. This reveal includes iconic characters such as Sephiroth, Yuffie, Cecil, Garland, Chaos, and many more. This sneak peek not only showcases a variety of new cards but also features several art variations, complementing the four commander cards already unveiled: Tidus, Cloud, Y'shtola, and Terra.

Among the highlights are powerful legendary creatures like Sephiroth and Cecil, alongside a fresh take on the Food token and art variations for cards such as Stilzkin, Moogle Merchant; Sin, Spira's Punishment; and Summon: Shiva. Today's reveal also sheds light on some unique features of the set. One of the standout elements is the introduction of Summons, which are part of Magic's first-ever Saga creatures. These can be called upon to aid players in battle, as demonstrated by Summon: Shiva in the gallery. Additionally, the set brings back double-faced cards, exemplified by Cecil's dual nature as a Dark Knight and a Redeemed Paladin.

The Final Fantasy set will boast over 100 legendary creature cards, including 55 legendary borderless cards, many of which are illustrated by fan-favorite artists from the rich history of Final Fantasy. This set is not only fully draftable but also Standard-legal, set to launch on June 13. Alongside the main set, four preconstructed Commander decks themed around Final Fantasy games 6, 7, 10, and 14 will be released. Each deck contains 100 cards, blending new Final Fantasy cards with existing cards featuring fresh Final Fantasy artwork.
