The upcoming season of Daredevil is nearing its debut, and the creative team is already considering future possibilities, including a potential Defenders reunion.

In an extensive feature with EW, Brad Winderbaum, Marvel Studios’ head of streaming and television, discusses the prospect of bringing back the street-level heroes—Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist—collectively known as The Defenders.

While no firm plans are confirmed, Winderbaum shared with EW, “It’s thrilling to explore that creative space… Unlike comic books, where imagination is the only limit, we’re navigating the complexities of actors’ schedules, production timelines, and the immense scope of building a cinematic universe, particularly for television.”

He continued, “With those challenges in mind, the idea of reuniting these characters is incredibly exciting and something we’re actively exploring.”

Daredevil: Born Again will directly continue the story from the Netflix series. Netflix previously hosted a smaller-scale Marvel universe with shows like Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage. Winderbaum’s remarks suggest that Daredevil: Born Again could serve as a foundation to reintroduce these characters on Disney Plus, tailored to Disney’s vision. The inclusion of Jon Bernthal’s Punisher in the new season already marks the return of another Netflix-era hero.

For now, fans will need to wait for Daredevil: Born Again’s premiere on March 4 to see how it might connect to the broader MCU.
