This resulted in the game's removal from iOS and Android app stores on January 18, 2025, impacting numerous players. While PC users via Steam can still access the game, the abrupt shutdown, without prior warning, caused significant frustration, especially for those who continued making in-app purchases.

Second Dinner expressed surprise and is actively working to reinstate Marvel Snap, stating via Platform X: "Marvel Snap is here to stay. We're working hard to restore the game as quickly as possible, and we'll keep players informed of our progress." The ban also affected other ByteDance apps, although not universally; some, like Ragnarok X: 3rd Anniversary and Earth: Revival - Deep Underground, remain accessible.

Prior to the ban, we discussed the addition of the Moonstone card. This Ongoing card (4/6) presents a significant meta shift, copying the Ongoing effects of 1, 2, and 3-cost cards in its lane. The existing pool of low-cost Ongoing cards, such as Ant-Man and U.S. Agent, already provides a substantial base for Moonstone's effect. However, unlike many inexpensive Ongoing cards that primarily boost power, Moonstone's ability to acquire these effects cost-free allows for rapid power accumulation, making it a game-changer.
