Konami producer Noriaki Okamura recently spoke with IGN, subtly suggesting the possibility of a Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (MGS4) remake within MGS Master Collection Vol. 2, alongside next-gen console ports. When questioned about bringing the PS3 exclusive to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, Okamura acknowledged the fervent fan speculation but offered no concrete details.

"We're aware of the interest in MGS4," Okamura stated to IGN. "With Vol. 1 covering MGS 1-3... well, you can probably draw your own conclusions! Internally, we're focused on the future of the series. Sorry, no further information at this time. Stay tuned!"

The possibility of MGS4 joining Master Collection Vol. 2 has been a major topic among fans. The release of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 last year, featuring remastered versions of the first three games on various platforms including PC and Switch, has significantly fueled this anticipation. An MGS4 port for PS5 and other platforms now seems increasingly plausible.

This speculation intensified last year when placeholder buttons for MGS4, MGS5, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker appeared on Konami's official Metal Gear Solid timeline. IGN further reported these titles as likely candidates for Master Collection Vol. 2, although Konami has yet to confirm this officially.

Adding fuel to the fire, David Hayter, the English voice actor for Solid Snake, hinted at his involvement in an MGS4-related project on social media last November. However, Konami remains silent on the specifics of any MGS4 remake or its inclusion in Master Collection Vol. 2.
