Capcom has announced an extension for the Monster Hunter Wilds beta following a 24-hour outage of the PlayStation Network (PSN) that disrupted the previous test. The PSN outage began around 3pm PT on Friday, February 7, and services were not restored until approximately 24 hours later. Sony attributed the disruption to an "operational issue" and compensated all PlayStation Plus members with an additional five days of service.

During the downtime, PlayStation users were unable to access online games, and even some single-player games that required server authentication or a constant internet connection were affected. The second beta of Monster Hunter Wilds, which was scheduled to run from Thursday, February 6 to Sunday, February 9, was among the impacted games. In response, Capcom has extended the next session by 24 hours, now running from Thursday, February 13 to Monday, February 17, instead of ending on Sunday, February 16.

The extended beta period will be from February 13 at 7pm PT (February 14 at 3am GMT) to February 17 at 6:59 pm PT (February 18 at 2:59 am GMT). Capcom has confirmed that players participating during this extended window will still be eligible to receive the participation bonuses that will be available in the full version of the game.

Despite the previous downtime, beta participants were able to engage with Monster Hunter Wilds' major challenge, a new formidable enemy known as Arkveld.
