Netmarble’s Beat 'Em Up King Of Fighters ALLSTAR Is Shutting Down Soon
Netmarble's popular beat 'em up, King of Fighters ALLSTAR, is sadly shutting down later this year. The announcement, made recently on the official Netmarble forums, confirmed October 30th, 2024, as the final day. Even worse news for those hoping to spend their in-game currency—the in-game store closed on June 26th, 2024.
Why the Shutdown?
After over six years of delivering punchy action and high-profile fighting game crossovers based on SNK's legendary King of Fighters series, King of Fighters ALLSTAR is bowing out. While player reviews generally praised the game's slick animations and engaging PvP matches, the developers hinted at a potential lack of new fighters to adapt as a contributing factor. However, this is likely just one piece of a larger picture, with other, unstated reasons likely playing a role.
The game did experience some challenges, including recent optimization issues and random crashes that frustrated some players. Despite these setbacks, King of Fighters ALLSTAR still managed to amass millions of downloads across Google Play and the App Store.
