Nintendo to Shut Down Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp

You read that correctly—shockwaves are rippling through the gaming community as Nintendo has announced the end-of-service (EOS) for the beloved mobile game, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. Despite its continued popularity, the curtains are set to close on this cozy campsite adventure. Let’s delve into the details!
When Are They Shutting Down Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp?
Mark your calendars: the online services for Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp will cease operation on November 28th, 2024. This date marks a poignant end, coming just a week after the game's seventh anniversary on November 21st. As the final days approach, players are encouraged to cherish their remaining time in the game.
From November 28th, 2024, you'll no longer be able to purchase Leaf Tickets, and the Pocket Camp Club memberships will no longer auto-renew. Note that as of October 28th, 2024, these auto-renewals will be halted. If your membership extends past this date, you won't be eligible for a refund, but you will receive a special badge in your in-game mailbox.
Make sure to stock up on Leaf Tickets by November 26th, as this will be your last opportunity. The final farewell to the online community will occur on November 28th at 7:00 AM PST.
But Here’s Some Good News: It’s Not A Complete Farewell!
While it's a bittersweet goodbye to the online version, Nintendo isn't leaving fans completely in the lurch. They're planning to release a paid offline version of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. Although this version won't include features like Market Boxes, gifts, or the ability to visit friends' campsites, the essence of the game will remain intact.
All your saved data will carry over, allowing you to continue your journey without an internet connection. Keep an eye out for more information about this new offline version, expected to be released around October 2024.
This move by Nintendo aligns with their broader strategy of phasing out their mobile game offerings. We've already seen the closure of titles like Dr. Mario World and Dragalia Lost, and Mario Kart Tour has been shifted to maintenance mode. For some, the shutdown of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp might not come as a surprise.
As we approach the end, you can still enjoy Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp by downloading it from the Google Play Store. And don't forget to check out our next feature on Monument Valley 3 by Netflix for more gaming news and updates.
